Coming Sunday - Lake Biwa Mainichi Marathon - last stop qualification Olympic berth for Japanese men



The 67th edition of Lake Biwa Mainichi Marathon, an IAAF Gold Label Road Race, oldest annual marathon in Japan since 1946 will be held coming Sunday, 4th of March and it will be the last venue for Japanese men to seek the London Olympic qualifications after last week's event at Tokyo when 2 locals set strong benchmarks of 2:07:48 and 2:08:38.

Top contenders in this men-only race are:
Nicholas Manza (KEN) - PB 2:06:34 Amsterdam 2011
Bekana Daba (ETH) - PB 2:07:04 Houston 2011
Abdellah Taghrafet (MAR) - PB 2:08:21 Bilbao 2011


Wilson Kipsang of Kenya won the last year's edition with a course record of 2:06:13
