Powell in face2face line up with Blake, Dix n Frater in Weltklasse Zürich today after missing Daegu

Diamond Trophy



Former 100m world record holder and current world leader Asafa Powell of Jamaica who missed the recent Worlds Daegu due to a last minute injury will come back in 100m action today at the Weltklasse Zürich, the 13th stop of the IAAF Samsung Diamond League 2011 series, the first of the remaining 2 Finals (before Brussels on 16 September).

Powell, 28, will line-up face to face in a strong field which includes compatriot Yohan Blake, the just crowned 100m world title holder, Walter Dix of USA , the silver medalist in both the 100m n 200m in Worlds Daegu and Michael Frater who was in the Jamaican 4x100m quartet who set the only world record at Daegu


Powell is currently leading the tally with 14 points in the 100m Diamond Race and has become the winner of the USD40,000 jackpot and a Diamond Trophy in this discipline as his nearest competitor Usain Bolt is not competing.
