Sparkling field to shine at London Marathon 2013 April 21



Coming Sunday 21 April will see a best ever elite field of world's top marathon runners assembled at the start of the 2013 Virgin London Marathon, among them with their PB's :

To mark the bombings at the finishing line of the Boston Marathon last Monday, the London Marathon will have a 30-second moment of silence before the start of the the elite men and masses at 10:00am, a whistle will sound before and after the commemorative silence.
Participants will receive a black ribbon when they pick up their bib numbers and race officials are encouraging runners to wear the ribbons during the race.

An estimated 500,000 spectators will line the streets to watch the 42.195km race from Blackheath, in the south-east of the capital, to the Mall, in central London.
