Strongest field ever at Amsterdam Marathon 2013 October 20
The 38th edition of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon 2013, an IAAF Gold Label Road Race, will take place on 20 October when a strongest ever field of runners will assemble at the starting line, among them:
Men
Wilson Chebet (KEN) 28 [Defending champion] - PB 2:05:27 Rotterdam 2011
Getu Feleke (ETH) 27 - PB 2:04:50 Rotterdam 2012
Bernard Koech (KEN) 25 - PB 2:04:53 Dubai 2013
Defending champion Wilson Chebet, also know as Mister Amsterdam, will be competing for the 4th time in a row after finishing 2nd place in his debut in 2010, champion in 2011 and 2012 and again last year when he won in a new course record of 2:05:41
Likewise Getu Feleke made his debut here in 2009, winning in 2010 in 2:05:44, a course record then, and 2013 will be his 3rd appearance in Amsterdam.
Bernard Koech is the 5th world leading marathon runner and the fastest Kenyan marathon runner this year
