
Saladuha - new triple jump world champion


2-time women triple jump defending champion, Yargeris Savigne of Cuba became the 5th 'victim' in Day 6 of World Championships Daegu when she was forced to pull out of the final through a right thigh injury after 3 attempts while trailing at 6th placing tonight.
Savigne was featured as the official programme cover Star in today's , the 6th day of the official programme and encountered the same fate as the previous 'cover stars' of the first 4 days who failed to win a medal each.
European champion Olha Saladuha, 28, won her 1st world title and the 1st gold for Ukraine with a distance of of 14.94m.
Olga Rypakova of Kazakhstan took the silver while Caterine Ibarguen won the bronze, the 1st Colombian female athlete to win a worlds medal.
